The Story Behind Still Got it Athlete

Still Got it Athlete was founded by Kisandra Omolara Ayanbeku. She is a former Women’s collegiate basketball player and current NJCAA Assistant Women’s basketball coach.
Every summer Boston’s basketball courts are filled with competitive leagues for both Men and Women that include former college players and neighborhood park legends. This is where she noticed former athletes filing the sidelines and only being able to reminisce about their full-court playing days.

There are many different reasons why some of these athletes aren’t able to get up and down the court anymore. They either have prior or current injuries or they are just completely out of full-court shape. Hearing athletes reminisce about their back in the day playing action, is usually followed up with the cliche statement “I still got it though!” Following their response always comes some sort of invitation to a one on one challenge or some form of a shooting competition.

The Vision

The statement “Still Got it Athlete” is associated with a community of current and former athletes that still have the desire to compete and own this statement. When you put one of our shirts on, you are letting everyone know that you “Still Got it.”
Still Got it Athlete will create competitive events that will give these athletes an opportunity to compete. We will target all athletes, including those that may no longer be able to play in the traditional 5 on 5 tournaments but still have the hunger and desire to compete.
The range of players will vary from former high school, college, overseas or your neighborhood park legends. The minimum age to enter the competitions will be 24 years old. There will be a division for 24-29, 30-39 and 40-50. Contestants will compete in their age division and a winner will be announced in each bracket.
